Bethlehem's Bell Ringer
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Bethlehem's Bell Ringer

"For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee."
Are the words of the well known
Poet, John Donne, an English writer,
From far across the sea.

"Each man's death,
Diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind,
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee."

Though these words were written
Many centuries ago.
They are ever so timely,
For the Bethlehem Bell Ringer,
Who received an endless war's
Tragic death blow.

On his way to The Church of The Nativity,
Built on the place,
Where Jesus was born.
Bethlehem's Bell Ringer went
To ring the bell
Of Hope and Peace
In a land war-torn!

A stray bullet,
From an unknown sniper's gun.
Struck the bell ringer in the chest,
Claiming another victim of this
Family feud of Esau and Jacob
Taking the life of one of
Bethlehem's very best.

Who will now ring the bell,
For The Church of The Nativity?
It doesn't really matter --
For when the bell rings again,
It will ring for Samir Ibrahim,
For all the world, For You, and
For Me!
