Quality Time With God

With so many things to do,
And so many places to go;
My body is prepared for these many tasks,
But I am not so sure about my soul.
My body has its own needs ~
Many I do not comprehend or understand;
My soul has one urgent need,
Spending quality time with its creator God,
As in the Garden of Eden --
He lovingly and originally planned.

So many demands on my time,
And so little time for my demands;
Yet, my soul fervently pleads,
Spend more quality time with God
As through His Son and Spirit --
He lovingly and redemptively commands.
With so many things to do,
And so many places to go;
Which will I yield to the most~
My ever changing body --
Or my never changing soul.

About the Poet
I am 73 years old and have not written poetry in these past many years For my wife of 73, my daughter of 50 and my son, 44 in the Army National guard I write this poem in faith but also with tear.
