Listen to the Birds Sing!

A choir of musical singing birds,
Greeted me shortly before daybreak;
Lifting up my soul and spirit,
And comforting an unwelcomed heartache.

The soprano chorus of birds
In harmony seem to joyfully sing;
Easter Morning will soon be here,
And the Risen Christ will do for you
A brand new thing.

The morning war news on T.V.,
The loudest song on country/rock radio;
Could not drown out this choir of celebrating birds,
And their musical tones of silver and gold.

Be still and know He is God,
The Psalmist passionately wrote;
Slow down, worship and remember He is alive,
This choir of birds sang with each melody-filled note.

How long has it been since you heard
A choir of singing birds lifting up their talented voices;
Chanting majestically the Hymn of Easter Grace
That promises a blessed life of Spirit-led choices.

Thank you O my Father for awakening me
With a divinely conducted choir of singing birds;
Singing, "From The Tomb God Rescued His Son,"
Reminding me that He still loves everyone
Living in this man-centered but God sustained
Grace-redeeming world.
