If It Were Not for God

If It Were Not for God

If it were not for God I'd be in total despair

The world is in such a state of disrepair

Child abuse on the increase everywhere

Seems there are few who  really care

Family dysfunction at an all time high

Seems little help for those in desperation who cry

Or in denial struggle in silent pain

Not knowing how to get off the dread-filled train

If it were not for God, the one true way

Out of the morass, or hell to pay

If it were not for God, I'd too despair

Instead I must act to show His care

Instead I must act to show His care.

If It Were Not for God (2014) Quentin Clingerman
