Australia's Loss

Australia's Loss

Steve Irwin was a national treasure

Known worldwide

His sudden death comes as a shock

Those who knew him or loved his work

Mourn the loss of one taken so young

Steve loved what he was doing

Died with "his boots on"

It is a reminder to each of us

Life is fragile

Handle it with care

And also with much prayer

Condolences extended to Steve's family and friends

The world over

Australia, we feel your loss

May you find comfort in knowing his work

Will ever be a monument to his love

Of animals and to Australia, the land of his birth.
