Hispanics Three

Three men in intense heat

Began their task in the morning

Digging holes for posts

Carrying in lumber and equipment

Steadily the deck began to form

Eighteen feet by 12 feet extending into much of the backyard

The sun beat down but the men pressed on

Hispanics Three, the oldest, the foreman

The shortest appeared to be the busiest 

Only stopping to eat lunch

The sound of the click of the nailer and an occasional blow of a hammer

No arguments, or loud talking, just moving and moving

Some eleven hours later

A very well built deck was finished

Their work a solid demonstration of skill and industry

They each earned a handsome tip

Now we climb out a window to get to the deck

Until the door is ready--that is another story!
