My Mother

My Mother

In honor of my mother dear

Since she has passed been many a year

But I still see her smiling face

A stern one on occasion to set the pace

Firm in her faith she lived and taught

Not flawless but it was her spirit we caught

Her love was genuine, sometimes tough

She taught us life could be rough

But there was a Father in Heaven she knew

We'd hear her pray, grass wet with dew

With seven children and a husband her time to fill

She always had time for daily devotions, on her "hill"

I love you Mom for your care

Your faith in God

Which you would readily share

Thank you, Mom, for your enduring legacy of love and faith.
