Labor Day, USA

Labor Day, a holiday, when thousands stop their labor

For a day to commemorate the value of honest work

A tribute to all of those who by their toil keep the wheels

Of commerce going, industry thriving, Capitalism at its best

It is also, this year, the time for politics with local and state elections

Labor Day often "kick-offs" for official campaigning with speeches

Much is to be gained or lost this year on the national level

Whether the "War on Terrorism" will be considered real

Or just a political ploy!

It all reminds me that Jesus said, "Come unto me all you who labor and

are heavy laden and I will give you rest, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Labor Day, USA (c) 2006 Quentin Clingerman
