Riding the Alpine Roads

Riding the Alpine Roads

Riding the Alpine Roads
Is an experience in hairpin curves
Trying the best of nerves;

To ride the edge of steep cliffs
The better to see where you will fall
If in the diriver's seat your're not tall

Following slow moving traffic up those grades
Better than trying to pass,
The thought itself is crass!

Getting beyond the ride
The sights are breathtaking
Views of nature's making

Of quiet valleys, rushing streams
Of high mountain waterfalls
Annd farms with mountain cattle stalls

Of church steeples among the mountains steep
Of grazing cattle and villages neat
Of grazing cattle I repeat

Cows and sheep on the montain sides
Cowbells to be heard
Among the grazind herd

Flowers in abundance on the lower elevations
Bright yellows, blues, and reds
On their various heads

But on the roads, cars, buses, trucks and vans
Share the narrow winding roads
With motorcycles and bicycles with thier human loads

Riding the Alpine roads
Is quite in itself an adventure
My thoughts while on the bus are in censor!
