The Last of a Generation

The Last of a Generation

She is the last of her family
My mother's youngest sister
Petite and short, slow on her feet
But her mind is keenly alert

She works for Wendy's twenty hours a week
Is a great public relations person
People stop in especially to see her
Always a pleasant smile and greeting to all

The family from far and wide
Are gathering on Saturday, October 19
To help her celebrate her 90th birthday
Her children are doing things up fine

It will be a reunion of sorts of
Nieces and nephews and cousins
All brothers, sisters and in-laws too are gone
Of her generation

Aunt Neitha will be quick to tell you
It is by the Grace of God she is here
She lives by faith in her Brother, Christ,
Of whom she is joint-heir

Her gentleness and sweetness are very apparent
If you are ever in Breezewood, PA
Stop by Wendy's
She may well be there

Tell her Quentin sent you
It will get you an extra smile
