Our Brother

Our Brother

The pastor expressed his concern
The lack of passion for Christ
That which sends men out boldly
To live for Christ

He spoke to us as men of the church
Who individually may know Christ
But who corporately--as the church
Appeared spiritually blase

No fire! No intensity! No drive!
It is partly the culture in which we live
So stimulated by so many things
We are turned off by all

Too busy making a living,
Keeping our households together
Finding some diverting entertainment
Too busy for intimacy with God

Attending church from habit or obligation
Yet, even there worship may be shallow
Away from church little time to be alone with God

Yet, He waits and bids us come to Him
Spend time in His presence
Fall in love with Him again and again
He who is the lover of our souls

Our savior from sin
Giver of Eternal Life
Our brother and our closest friend
Our brother and our closest friend
