Oops!

Now running off the road is a scary thing
Especially if you're the one doing it!
Running off the road is quite a feat
Especially if you don't know you are doing it!

Thank goodness for telephone poles
They're there to stop you when you do
Run off the road while driving
(Not while drinking or speeding--mind you!)

Just minding your own business
When suddenly there you are
You look up wondering what happened
Someone asking if you're all right!

Ha! of course you're all right!
You just ran off the road across the center line
Never mind the oncoming traffic!
Especially not remembering a thing!

Hmmmm not remembering a thing
Hmmmm not remembering a thing
Now why am I typing this
Oh, being unconscious is such wonderful bliss

Oh, yes, running off the road in the broad daylight
Enough to scare you out of your wits
If there were any to be scared out of
Running off the road to no one's delight

Standing in the shade with a glass of icewater
Watching the firengine, ambulance, and police
As a casual observer
So this is what it is like to be on the scene

Of someone running off the road in the broad daylight
Kind of fun riding in the ambulance, lights and siren blaring!
Now that is what it's like
Running off the road in the broad daylight
