What If?

What if the roles were reversed
Those animals in the zoo
Were looking in at you?

High iron fences bar your way
How far you can traverse each day
Scheduled feedings whether hungry or not
Of food you may not want cold or hot

Bare ground or hard cement your floor
A hole in the wall your entrance door
With a thick gate to shut you in
Another cage for viewing, you just can't win!

Snacks of all descriptions and junk too
Thrown at you to see what you will do
Laughing and pointing, enough to make you sick
And only straw to sleep upon that isn't very thick

What if the roles were reversed
Those animals in the zoo
Were looking in at you?
