A White Ball of Fur

A white ball of fur, so fluffy and soft
He was the first dog of our household I recall
So soft and white, we named him, Snowball

Living on a farm, he was a natural
A lively pup so cuddly and fun
With him I'd have such a time to run

Fearless he enjoyed the barn
Running everywhere, even under cows' feet
Yet, never stepped on the cows never missed a beat

Missing those cows or that farm, I believe
We moved and in that move he went astray
At the new farm he would not stay

There have been many pets since then
But it is especially Snowball I remember when

A White Ball of Fur(c)2005 Quentin Clingerman

Note: Reading of Everett's loss of Lucky sent me into a pet reverie. It was a long time before I became attached to another pet.
