A Patriot

A patriot is one who
When this nation faces
Crises overwhelming
Stands fast

For the Constitution
For Freedom of Speech
For Freedom of association
For Freedom of assembly
For Freedom of religion

A patriot is one who
Unifies with his fellow citizens
To face incredible events
With courage and strength

A patriot may stand alone
When fear and ignorance cause
General alarm and foolish action
Standing firm against popular error

Sept. 11, 2001 is a day to be
A patriot through and through

A Patriot (c)2001 Quentin Clingerman
