A Toast to 50 Years

Young love, passionate, and tender
Started two lives off together

Not too remarkable, lots start that way
But for these two it has led to a remarkable day

Leonard and Esther, bride and groom all aglow
Looked to each other without pretense or show

Vowing to live as one through bright years and wan
Living also for Christ which made them singularly one

Two children from this bond came
Sharing this honorable family name

The years passed so quickly
Some where both were very sickly

But God has given them fifty years
Through much laughter and a few tears

Thus it is a happy fiftieth
A toast in poetry lifted

Leonard and Esther (Conrad) Rohrer

A Toast to 50 Years (c)Quentin Clingerman
