Mom

She was always Mom to  her children

Though her given name was Hattie Irene

One thing we learned early on

She loved God with all of her heart

She could be stern but never harsh

Negative about life in general but not about God

She was a hard worker keeping up a home

For husband and seven children

But she always had time for the Bible and prayer

I will always remember her praying aloud for us

And laighing with us when we were silly

Encouraging us to live for the Lord

For Mom, God was her way of life

Not faultless, but blameless

She lived a righteous life before us
