Driving

It is what it is going to be
Driving for hours and days you see
Getting where I want to go
Driving, and keeping the speed low!

Flying would be so much better
But then renting a car is the fetter
So driving is what I want to do
My eyes on the road I must glue

Taking time for prayer
Asking the Lord to see us safely there
To be a blessing on the way
Perhaps being a help to someone else on his way

Driving is what it is for me
Only to get to the goal of the journey
Driving is not the end I have in sight
It is the means to the tunnel's light

Driving is a metaphor
For opening Heaven's door
It is my ultimate quest
With Christ eternally to rest.
