Rat-tailed Combs
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Other Poems by Quentin Clingerman

Rat-tailed Combs Cardboard people in crated homes
Gossmer clothing with rat-tailed combs
Meeting in shallow weeping pools
Making of themselves utter fools

Pasteboard workers encased in glass
Management staring without any class
Meeting in deep scummy, monetary green
More a frightful nightmare than a sweet dream

Paper thin government in capitals fair
Shuffling papermache laws, rules everywhere
Meeting in halls most darkly insincere
Making for themselves a pathetic career

Cardboard votes in ballot boxes thin
Butterfly, butterfly you will surely win
Meeting in shallow weeping pools
Making of themselves utter fools

Making of themselves utter fools
