A Plea for Peace

Oh, God, our Father,
As you are Creator-Sovereign
And Savior through Christ, Your Son
Look on your servants with pity and mercy
Forgive us our timidity in boldly proclaiming
Your awesome redeeming love

A love which would turn this world
Reverse its course, bring peace,
Father, awaken men of good will
To stand firmly for the right
Especially in Your awesome Might
And give us peace

A Plea for Peace (c)2003 Quentin Clingerman
