The Night Is Young

The night is young
Yet dark the sky, black as raven wing
Warm rain falls, rivlets scatter as to ring
the trees, gardens, lawns, and flowers
protect them from the sun's bright rays
the heat and moisture of summer days

The night is young
darkness owns the world
creatures of black rule earth and sky
wherein for what ever reason they do ply,
renew the earth, cause some to live, others to die
of whithered vegetation

The night is young
fast moves the stars of heaven
above the denseness of the dark.
human life somewhere will soon embark
first gentle rays of light dimly appear
wet hangs loosely everywhere
