Crown of Thorns

Crown of Thorns

A crown of thorns upon His head

They thought to mock Him for a day

Instead, they crucified the King

Who one day would return

To judge their deeds in light of Eternity

Do we crown Him, perhaps not with thorns

But mockingly call Him King

When He is neither King nor Lord

Of  lives lived for self to selfish ends?

Yet, He died for us

A crown of thorns upon His head instead

Or is He King of Kings and Lord of  Lords?
