Jerk, Jerk, Jerking Along!

Jerk, Jerk, Jerking Along

Rough is the word I use

When describing the ride

The old Buick would get me there

But with at times a somewhat jerky tide

When the gears shifted and it was new

It was smooth as silk

Quiet with hardly a vibration felt

Then as the years came and went

(And I forgot the 75,000 mile transmission service)

The gear shifting became a little rough

Not bad enough for me to do anything about it

Well, that is my lack of mechanical talent

Or whatever!  Duh!  Duh! again!

I will never learn!

So jerk, jerk, jerking along

My old Buick did its sad song

Too late I had the transmission serviced

Oh, it still moves along with its roughness

But any day it will change gears one last time

Meantime, a different car came into my possession

But that is another story of a different dimension

Jerk, Jerk, Jerking Along (c) 2010 Quentin Clingerman
