Tuolumne River Morning
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Tuolumne River Morning

The gray-green grasses drip with dew,
And sunlit limbs of trees renew
A kinship to the light of morn
Along the river’s bank this dawn.

The river’s mist lifts up to praise
The golden morn, the times of days
When sunlight pours upon the trees
A light that brings night to its knees.

And all at once, the weight of frost,
From out of darkness, cold and lost,
Within the heart and soul of night
Arises tenderly to light.

Here flows the wonder of great gifts
From deep within which rises, lifts
My heart and soul to sing with praise
The glory of His newborn days.

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
