Something in Her Chases Light

  Something in Her Chases Light

Before she sees it, she hears its sounds,
Then stops and stiffens, springs and bounds
With frantic paws upon the wall
In answer to some unsought call
To catch the moving lighted spot
Without delay or second thought;
There’s something in her chases light
When cast across the wall at night.

My Light is always polarized
In darkness, but my Light’s baptized
To enter in throughout all dark,
It is the way He makes His mark
From first unto this very night
Inside and shining, shining bright,
I pray I will pursue as she
My shining Light that calls to me.

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
