Lifted to Him Sing
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Lifted to Him, Sing

When through the trees there blows a breeze
And notes of bird-songs ring,
My worry-weary thoughts with ease
Are lifted and I sing!

I sing of nature's simple songs
Forever given me
In that to which my heart belongs-
The soul's divinity.

Divine the breath that first did breathe
The quiddity I see,
And in creation did unsheathe
His love's divinity.

Creation starts the senses first,
Then sets the heart on wing,
To fly to Him, to be immersed,
And lifted to Him, sing!

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
