Blessed Are They Who Mourn
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Other Poems by Rich Tassinari

Blessed are they who mourn,

Their tears are a silent prayer,

In mourning, a comfort is born.

Though spirit is lost and forlorn,

In emptiness crying for care,

Blessed are they who mourn.

Grieving, their parched heart is worn,

And worn until tender and bare,

In mourning, a comfort is born.

Tears like sweet rain drops adorn,

And foul weather soon turns to fair,

Blessed are they who mourn.

Though hope had been plundered and torn,

A mended new garment they wear,

In mourning, a comfort is born.

The darkness retreats at the morn,

The Son and the sufferer pair,

Blessed are they who mourn,

In mourning, a comfort is born.

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
