                   Noah

My God extends an olive branch,
A rainbow in the sky,
A light when dark clouds dissipate
To show that peace is nigh.

When hearts are hid below the deck
Throughout the raging storm,
He keeps the shaken ship afloat,
Its contents safe from harm.

And though the leaves of life have died,
Debris lies everywhere,
He sprouts new shoots on battered fields
With hope, and love, and care.

Within the living spirit of
Creation from His hand,
There lives the seed to start anew
And populate the land.

My prayer that flies unto His arms
Returns with signs of love-
A spectrum spread across the sky,
A pure-white, flawless dove.

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
