After Darkness Has Its Time
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

    After Darkness Has Its Time

After darkness has its time
To prowl the earth and blur the line
Between the living and the dead,
There comes a time when Light is shed
From air ethereal and pure,
Through mist and fog its beams endure
To separate the green from grey,
The lost from found, the night from day.

This Light is made to penetrate
The leaf, the blade, the outer state
Of all that's seen to what's unseen
Within the living, in the green,
Like wisdom shared will bear good fruits
Like love when planted raises shoots,
Like virtue watered quenches thirst-
As such dark death, this Light reversed!

Jer 17:8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Luke 23:31 For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
