Accidental Pregnancy

Accidental Pregnancy

I wonder how one comes to be
An accidental pregnancy?
A warning on the news today
Said Pfizer recalled right away
One million out of sequence pills,
Misstep's in labor's sequence skills
And now a pill won't guarantee
Intentional non-pregnancy.

Today, the outcome must be known
Before the seeds of life are sown,
The hardest choice- to have or not,
Then, science seeks what love had sought,
Pre-mix of elements improves
What romance readily removes-
The progress of pragmatic life,
Objective husband, modern wife.

How might romantic hearts foresee
An accidental pregnancy?
To not prepare, to be surprised,
To cherish living life revised,
Miraculous the spirit moves,
Each moment selfless, love improves,
No accidents, He guarantees
All accidental pregnancies.

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
