Great Love

                 Great Love

How great His love! A pregnant love!
A birth to take advantage of!
Not as an unschooled, foolish child
But schooled upon the rugged, mild
Beginnings, lessons in the heart
Where sacred learning had its start.

How great His love! Eternal love!
Not of this world, but from above
And sprinkled like the gifted rain
Upon creation spread the same
To raise, and grow, and sprout in each
More seeds of love, more love to teach.

How great His love! A living love!
Alive in Him marked by the dove,
A love that walks, yet still takes flight,
In darkness shines its hopeful light,
The light that first created day
And lit the love within to stay.

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
