Your Voice

          Your Voice

Your voice is not the voice of fear,
The frigid voice that bites the ear
With cold words frosty blue,
           Not You,
Your voice speaks warmly of a hue
That lifts with courage all who hear
Your message true and clear.

Your voice has not a worried sound,
The trembling voice that waffles 'round
And splits the mind in two,
           Not You,
You speak with certainty one view
Where strength and confidence abound
And one mind rightly found.

Your voice has no anxiety
And no despair that empties me
Of all which You imbue,
          Not You,
Your voice seeks only to renew
My weakened spirit back to be
Again enriched in Thee.

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
