Change of Inner Hue

              Change of Inner Hue

Some years ago my heart turned on its hinge
And you two stepped inside the open door
To change a darkness to a lighter tinge
Upon my walls, my ceiling, and my floor.
At first, the light was much too much to bear,
I’d grown accustomed to the darker shade
Which, under light, no longer lingered there,
But vanished over time as falsehoods fade.
There is no place to hide within the light,
No way to fool oneself and be content,
And oh, what joy and peace to cease the fight
And lean as all toward new dawn light is bent.

John 14:23

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
