                  Thanksgiving

In drought each drop’s a precious gem,
More precious than a diadem,
In rainstorms when so many fall
The ground can hardly keep them all,
In both a gracious heart will grow
By precious drop or river flow.

In darkness stars are guiding lights
Of hope to lead through darkened nights,
At daybreak when the sun rays spread,
The road’s more certain up ahead,
In both a gracious heart will grow
By starlit night or daytime glow.

In cold when hearts have frost and chill,
There’s warmth within His greater will,
In heat when praise and glory reign,
Degrees increase as hearts proclaim,
In both a gracious heart will grow
By His great will or praising so!

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
