The Spirit Blows Where It Pleases
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

The Spirit Blows Where It Pleases

I heard this morning’s quickened breeze
Astirring branches, rustling leaves
And swaying limbs up high on trees,
Then, like a church’s Sunday choir,
A wave of music lifted higher
Swaying, raising Faith’s desire.

My underside of false belief
Where once had nestled doubt and grief
Turned over like a newblown leaf,
Astirred upon the spirit wind,
I was from doubt and grief unpinned,
And saved in Spirit where I sinned.

I caught a peaceful, steady breeze
That lifted me up from my knees,
The Hope that leads, the Faith that frees,
The Love that trusts the spirit-sway
To follow Him along the way
Where blows the Spirit day by day.

Rich Tassinari 10/17/14

John 3:8. “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the spirit.”

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
