The Magi
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

                 The Magi

If heaven’s stars could talk, they’d say,
“We have no power over day,
Nor are we gods who rule the night,
But we reflect a greater light.”

That greater light shines in the dark,
A sparkling star the Magi mark
As given by divine design
To learned men who know God’s sign.

God’s light illuminates their way
Across the deserts of dismay,
Around the hills of doubt and fear,
Through vales of gloom, they persevere.

The star is hope, the light that first
Shined bright upon God’s universe,
Shines once again upon the earth
To bring man back through His son’s birth.

The wise men, for all people, bring
The gifts from man to praise a King
Who comes to offer up with love
The light of life from God above.

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
