Christmas Dream

         Christmas Dream

“I’m not so sure that I believe,
I’ve sat here now all Christmas eve,
The morning’s cold and all is still,
My nose has frost, my face a chill.”

“Please just wait a little longer,
Keep your chin up and be stronger,
I’m sure He’s coming, soon you’ll see
That dream come true for you and me.”

“This city park? I just don’t know,
Buried in a foot of snow,
Life was better summer last,
All my dreams are fading fast.”

“Someone’s love is coming here,
My heart is warm with Christmas cheer
Though there’s white chill all around,
Soon I know love will be found.”

“Look there, I see someone in sight,
Nearby that stable, in that light,
You were right for us to stay,
Christmas melts all frost away.”

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
