Flambeau

Great pine trees limn in jagged sigh

on the horizon distantly

where dusk lends fire to the sky

out o're the lake, surrounding me.

A burnished glow here does reflect

in calming rivulets to shore-

a molten look that I expect

from eve's out in this boat, before...

I work the oars - there's gentle creak

that echoes out across the lake

and breaks the silent way I seek;

I turn and see the rippled wake...

Ahead, the dock, stark white, aglow

looms where my voyage had begun;

the boat floats me in calming flow

before this peaceful day is done...

Now, cooling mist begins to form,

as all of nature thrives in tune;

the last of umber sky breathes warm

amidst the distant cries of loons...

Psalm 29:11...The Lord gives strength to his people;

the Lord blesses his people with peace.
