Autumn In The Country
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Other Poems by Lucia Kiersch Haase

It's Autumn in the country now,
the fields harvested of corn,
and frost is now upon the brow
of nature's beauty each new morn.

It's Autumn in the country now-
I can't decide what gravel road
to venture down - what winded way
to bring back in to my abode.

It's Autumn in the country now
and all's awhirl - the leaves, the squirrels
that gather for the Winter months
before the colder air unfurls.

It's Autumn in the country now,
I must get cooking on the stove-
some chili and some cornbread too
while looking out to vibrant grove.

The leaves are blessings God allows;
my window has a candle lit-
It's Autumn in the country now,
and I shall make the most of it.
