Burdenless

(a Cerispring sonnet)

I heard the whisper of the breeze
upon a hallowed way.
It permeated midst the trees.

I clearly heard it say,
'Go out today in joy and peace-
explore as I, this day!'

'Twas then I heard an eager bird
sing optus notes and nod assured.

Bright clouds of Lamb-soft fleece
then beckoned eyes of mine up high
to witness calm increase...

and suddenly afloat, was I -
led forth within the Word-light sky,
as weightless as a butterfly!!

Isaiah 55:12..."You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace."

Matthew 11:28..."Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest."

(The Cerispring sonnet is 14 lines of tetrameter and trimeter alternating, with the central
 couplet in tetrameter.)
