Lines From Coronado Beach

(a blank verse variant poem)

Upon a beach of sparkling sand
beside the peaceful ocean's roar,
we walk along upon the shore
and gather shells before us, here.
Each one we find is different as
the things we find to talk about-
each one a treasure to behold,
but not more than His company
beheld by me, the mother of
this young man, once a little boy.
The sun shines bright and it is warm,
but warmer is the smile I see;
thank you Lord, for giving me
the blessings of a loving son.

(We were visiting our son.  He lives in San Diego.  :) )
