My Forsythia Bush

(a blank verse variant poem)

My forsythia bush stands green, yet thriving;
I keep in mind how in Spring it was gold.
The season has passed, yet larger it grows-
each year, more beautiful than before.
Expectant I am of each new Spring,
when it shines in unearthly color, galore-
and only God knows to what extent-

Sowed in remembrance by her daughter,
my forsythia bush of memories, sings...
