An Autumn Wood
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By Lucia Kiersch Haase
Other Poems by Lucia Kiersch Haase

Let me bask in peace Lord, of an Autumn wood
midst the wind blown trees and leaves in a flurry;
lead me on a trail of what God called 'good'
where one can pause and never hurry...

Let my eyes meet vibrance of each wondrous bough
captured by the beauty capturing me
on an endless trail where cliff and brow
meets sweeping views for miles to see-

the splendor of earth, our Creator's hand
in the breadth of crisp October air;
let me praise like the trees that take a stand-
one of multitudes everywhere...

and thank Him for the glory, as one thankful should-
let me bask in peace Lord, of an Autumn wood.

(It's my favorite time of year and most trees here in Illinois are just in their peak.  It's
 really a blessing to see!) :)  I've been wanting to write an Autumn poem for a few
 weeks now and all of a sudden I just sat down this morning and wrote this in about
 10 minutes...I finally listened yet it's all in His timing.) Wishing everyone a lovely Autumn...
