The Good News

"The stone!  The stone was rolled away!!"...

exclaimed the women on that morn.

The tomb was empty on that day!

Two men appeared in lightening's way-

"The Lord has risen this day born!"

The stone...the stone was rolled away!

Our Savior King's been crowned...let's pray!

Now certain death of man is shorn-

the tomb was empty on that day!

Forgiveness of our sins, He'll weigh,

for Jesus Christ Himself has sworn!

The stone...the stone was rolled away!!

No longer shall the skies loom gray,

for Heaven's Light o're earth adorns.

The tomb was empty on that day!

Go out into the world and say,

"the Lord presides...the curtain's torn!"

The stone...the stone was rolled away!!

The tomb lay empty on that day!

(a villanelle)
