The Order of It All

The Order of It All

I've stopped nearby a quiet wood

observing how, in Spring,

renewing thrives in greening chords

of quiet echoing.

I've stopped to listen to the songs

of woodland birds I see-

to look within and know the face

of life so patiently.

I've stopped despite the gravel's dust,

to feel the ancient breeze

and find I'm stirred as much or more

than all the forest trees.

It seems I've stopped as one must do

to harken to His call,

and take the time to recognize

the order of it all.
