The Stone

The Stone

Upon my kitchen window sill,
I've placed an ordinary stone-
dull and gray and rough to touch,
most others would have tossed or thrown-

away, without a second thought.
But I can't seem to part with it,
because she chose it specially-
and that is why, I must admit.

"Here Grandma, I found this for you;"
she opened up her hand to me.
It truly was a treasure she
 was giving up so lovingly...

a trusting voice - a given gift,
a seed - a blessing to recall...
the stone upon my window sill-
no ordinary stone, at all.

Genesis 12:3..."I will bless those who bless you."
Acts 20:35  Jesus himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than receive.'
Matthew 19:14  Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not
hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such
                             as these.
