One Irish Day

 

Great breakers crash o're boulders limned to shore
beneath grand briny cliffs beheld by sea
as salty air floats winded, to a moor
beyond this shire, looming distantly.
A village thrives nearby a greening vale
where music of the people can be heard;
the flutes retell of new and ancient tales-
the songs of fiddles, boundless as a bird.
'Tis in the hearts of those who love this land
to celebrate St. Patrick's name, this day;
each song fulfills the air from hill to strand-
this celebration is the Irish way...
held close in hearts as bright as dawning fire,
within this great God-given land of Ire...
