Country Winter
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 2 times

Country Winter

The dusk has now turned indigo

as the horizon's last flambeau

now forms on land a narrow line-

the starlight garland to entwine.

A bit of crimson limns the edge-

a last goodbye o're distant hedge

midst twilight's incandescent blue

in fields now of glowing hue-

reflecting in the icy lake

a glimmer seen as though a wake;

a gentle ripple from a boat,

or from a harp, a peaceful note.

A silent sprinkling of snow

then sets the country more aglow;

a lone owl hoots as if to say -

'all is will within God's way.'
