A Golden Sunset

A Golden Sunset

A golden sunset held my being,
the beams extended, touching me;
a light supreme, yes - I am seeing,
an ancient light since Genesis.

What light could be brighter than this??
Perhaps the sun in afternoon,
the kind one cannot look upon;
perhaps the diamond light on waves
of sun reflecting, brilliantly...

no...there's radiance one cannot see-
of One who will appear to all the world,
the sky will open, the Heavens unfurled-
One who knows the time and date,
illuminator of our souls...

but for now, the sunset holds my being-
gold beams extended, touching me,
an earthly prelude to a Light
that all when He returns, shall see!
