So Loved

So Loved

(a Wordsworth sonnet)

So loved are these...all clustered hearts of Spring,
that verily request my steady gaze-
new-born again in song of hope and praise...
so loved by me - these lilacs beckoning.

Wind lifts and carries Heaven-scent with wing,
beyond my being, then from hill to lee-
new life once more speaks out so fragrantly,
in root-note joy of sure awakening.

So loved are those...whose blossoms shall abound-
whose blooms show faithful praise through seasons spent-
whose branches do not wither, but compound
within their gifted fragrance, Heaven-sent...

So loved by me...the lilacs here abloom-
more loved is He, who's risen from the tomb.
